Rejecting An item / Service

Smart Recycle reserves the right to reject any item which does not meet our Trade-In criteria, or we detected any suspicious activity. You will be notified via email and will require to respond with the full and correct address to the item is to be returned to

Smart Recycle reserves the right to refuse a device being sold. If we suspect any suspicious activities with orders placed, we will cancel the order and refuse any future orders.

If your device does not meet our grading criteria, it will be rejected. You will need to email us the full and correct address and we will have the item shipped back to you.

If you decline to accept our offer, we can send the device back free of charge using our Tracked48 label which insured the item up to £150. If you would like a higher insurance, you are required to pay for the postage when the item is being sent back, we will let you know what is the amount difference that needs to be paid. Be aware that this also includes if the item has been rejected by Smart Recycle.

If you decline a revised offer for your order, we will initiate the return of your device(s). Kindly anticipate a delivery timeframe of 3-5 working days. Should the initial delivery attempt be unsuccessful, we will reach out to you via phone and email to coordinate a second delivery. If the second delivery attempt also fails, it will be your responsibility to get in touch with us to organise a third delivery, which will be at your expense. In the absence of communication from your side within 7 days following the second failed delivery attempt, we will proceed to process your payment at the revised offer value.

Returning the parcel

As per our Terms and Conditions, if you decline our offer, we can return your device using our Tracked48 (T48) label, which is free and insured up to £150. If your device is of higher value or you would like additional insurance, you can choose one of the paid options below:

T48 (Free)   Delivered by Royal Mail within 48 hours, insured up to £150

SD1 (£8.15)   Next working day delivery, insured up to £750

SD2 (£9.45)    Next working day delivery, insured up to £1,000

SD3 (£11.45)    Next working day delivery, insured up to £2,500

T24 (£4.50)    24-hour delivery, insured up to £150

The insurance top-up is necessary to protect your device in case it is lost or stolen. Royal Mail allows us to raise a claim for lost or damaged parcels, but claims can be rejected if the insurance selected is below the device value. For your protection, it’s important to choose the appropriate level of insurance.
